Silicon Drinkabout goes west for Adam Street

Silicon Drinkabout is relocating West in support of Adam Street Private Members’ Club.
Tonight, for one night only, Silicon Drinkabout is heading west from EC2A and over to W2CN, in support of Adam Street Private Members’ Club, which we reported yesterday faces eviction if HBOS continues with its plan to sell the historic buildings to foreign residential developers, despite a fair market price being offered by owner James Minter.
It is the organisers’ hope that Westminster City Council will consider the level of support the Club has within London’s entrepreneurial community carefully before awarding planning permission for a change of use.
Bryce Keane from 3 Beards, one of the “Tech City Troika” we profiled recently, told The Kernel today: “The staff at Adam Street have always been excellent to us and, in fact, hosted our biggest-ever Digital Sizzle charity fundraiser for Movember last year. We’ve had some great evenings under its arches and, as a show of support, we have decided to bring Drinkabout west for one night only.
“We urge everyone, whether you’re regular or a first timer, to come down tonight and show your support. The simple fact is, without places like Adam Street, and the entrepreneurial relationships formed within its walls over the past 10 years, events like Silicon Drinkabout simply wouldn’t exist.
“Adam Street has been a hotbed of entrepreneurial wheeling and dealing for years, and we wanted to bring some of the East’s raw plugged-in energy over west to show them a slightly more debauched, but controlled, evening. This should be a very special Drinkabout for everyone who can make it.”
The Kernel strongly supports this move.
