Ready yourselves! The bad puns start now…
The European Pirate Summit
The European Pirate Summit is returning to Cologne in September this year.
For the second year running, the by invitation and application European Pirate Summit is to be held in Cologne, 10-11 of September. The event, which launched last year, offers itself as a new kind of start-up event for Europe. It was coined “the coolest underground pitching area ever” by Lars Hinrichs, founder of XING and dubbed “start-up event of the year” by Deutsche-Startups.
This year, the motto for the event is “ARRR on Europe”. (Consider yourself forewarned.) The speaker line-up includes Saul Klein, partner at Index Ventures, Lars Hinrichs and The Kernel’s Milo Yiannopoulos.
For two days, there will be talks, discussions, workshops, and, of course, some pitches. The European Pirate Summit intends to appeal to more than just the tech industry, approaching broader subjects such as global businesses and how start-ups can break monopolies.
At last year’s event, some of the highlights of the event were the pitches by start-ups. To be a part of the summit this year yourself, and pitch your product or service, it is not too late to apply.
As media partner for the event, The Kernel is able to offer a 20 per cent discount to readers. Entering the code “TheKernelEPS12” in the “Your Message” field when applying to attend.
