A global launch pad
A new event in Berlin in October promises to launch start-ups to a global audience.
A new launch pad event series for globally-minded start-ups, called HY Berlin, launches on 16 October as part of Media Entrepreneurs Day 2012. According to HY Berlin board member and YouTube co-founder Jawed Karim, Berlin is “well on its way to becoming one of the most vibrant start-up hubs in the world” and is thus the perfect location for such an event.
A jury of experts will sift through applications and invite the most promising companies to the event, where they will present to an audience of early-stage investors, press and the Berlin start-up community.
The winning start-up, which must be less than two years old and have taken no more than $1 million in funding, will be offered €10,000. The top three start-ups will be given trips to Silicon Valley and every team that applies and makes it on stage will get access to the hub:raum accelerator in Berlin, a co-working space and incubator operated by Deutsche Telekom.
The Kernel is pleased to support this event, which will be moderated by our Editor-in-Chief, Milo Yiannopoulos. Tickets are just €19 and are available online now.
