Tech City Monopoly
Combining our obsessions with board games and Silicon Roundabout, The Kernel created Tech City Monopoly.
It’s finally here! Please raise your glasses for Tech City Monopoly, probably the best board game we’ve ever seen. You’re welcome.
Editor’s Note: Tech City Monopoly is no longer on sale via The Kernel. You can order your own copy, if you wish, direct from Hasbro. Drop us a line and we’ll help you get set up.
Tech City Monopoly sees traditional venues like Park Lane and Old Kent Road replaced by some of the best-known start-ups in Silicon Roundabout, including Skimlinks, Huddle, Moo and Mind Candy.

Train stations are named after prominent co-working spaces such as White Bear Yard and The Trampery. The board and cards are identical to a regular Monopoly set, but customised to celebrate east London’s internet industry.

This customised board, designed by us and distributed to friends of The Kernel, was made by Hasbro in the same Monopoly factory as the regular game.
