“Software is eating the world” is the semi-famous rallying cry of venture capitalist Marc Andreessen. He’s absolutely right: software is transforming every aspect of life and business. But it’s not much of an understatement to say that, while this is going on, Jeff Bezos is also busy eating the world. It’s a related, but separate, phenomenon: Bezos is doing it with software, but also services, business models, robots and good old fashioned warehouses.
